Netrockers and Amelia’s Ward Panthers battled to a 1-1 stalemate when the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground, Linden.

The contest came to life in the dying minutes of the second half following a scoreless and cagey first period. It started with the lanky Amoniki Buntin slotting home in the 81st minute to hand Netrockers the lead. It went from bad to worse for Amelia’s Ward, as Ozina Prince received an 82ndminute red card, handing Netrockers the numerical advantage heading into the remaining minutes.

Nevertheless, Kevin Gittens rifled a powerful shot into the back of the net in the 90th+4 minute to restore parity to the fixture and earn a share of the spoils for Amelia’s Ward.

Meanwhile, Eagles gained a walkover from Kwakwani. The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches. Complete Results
