Milerock edged Capital FC 2-1 when the Upper Demerara Football Association leg of the NAMILCO U17 Championship commenced yesterday at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground, Linden.

The contest started favourably for Milerock as Aron Murray made his presence felt, driving the ball into the back of the net in the ninth minute. The lead proved to be shortlived as Omarion Ramsammy directed his effort into the far corner in the 18th minute to level proceedings.

However, Carlie Jones received his second yellow card and was sent off in the 32nd minute, reducing Capital FC to 10 players for the remainder of the contest. Milerock eventually capitalized on the numerical advantage as Roderio Tudor found the back of the net to score what proved to be the winner in the 58th minute.
