Ellè Gill’s new song inspires women to find their strength

Singer and songwriter Aiyodelle Gilbert, who goes by the stage name Ellè Gill has recently released a new song which aims at empowering women to tap into their inner strength.

Gilbert, who released “Woman” on International Women's Day – March 8 – said the motivation to write the song came about during a point in her life when she was feeling completely consumed as a woman with many responsibilities.

“The song was written to inspire women… It was written when I was going through a point in my life where I was trying to figure stuff out and so sometimes I would have to sit in my quiet moments to revive myself. So I wrote the song not only for me but also for other women to help empower them and to help them tap into their inner strength when they need some motivation, when they need to raise their self esteem,” Gilbert said.

She spoke to the numerous challenges women face on a daily basis, especially in adulthood, and urged every woman to make it her task to help other women see themselves in the most noble of ways possible.

“We need to see our fellow women as queens. We need to uplift each other and help each other to feel heard and; treat each other with priority,” she said.

“Woman” can be accessed on all streaming platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, along with the many other songs which she has already released and those that are yet in the making. Gilbert said she hopes to make it on the international stage as a proud Guyanese woman.

Asked what advice she had for women who have probably reached a similar point in their lives, the mother of a young boy replied, “I would encourage them to take a moment for themselves and to do something that would help them to reassemble. For example, I usually listen to motivational speeches to calm my mind down and to get me back on foot with great healing and feeling of my woman strength.”

Gilbert said that she has many other activities planned for her supporters this year and about 20 songs to release.
