In support of Down syndrome:
These pupils of the Sheba Nursery School in Region One joined in observing World Down Syndrome Day last Tuesday by donning brightly coloured socks. The idea of wearing brightly coloured socks was created because chromosomes (structures found in the centre (nucleus) of cells that carry long pieces of DNA in humans) are shaped “like socks” and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome.
