Seventeen boxers will be encamped from tomorrow ahead of the School Boys and Girls Junior Championships scheduled to be staged next week at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

This is according to Technical Director of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Terrence Poole.

Poole told this publication yesterday that the pugilists will be under the watchful eyes of himself and the other coaches, Lennox Daniels, Gregory Cort, Clifton Moore, Francisco Roldan, and Selbert Blake, prior to the August 26 to 28 fixture.

The event is scheduled to attract boxers from Grenada, St Lucia, The Bahamas, and Trinidad and Tobago. Poole stated that the local gladiators will be training and working on their craft twice a day, in the mornings at the CASH and in the afternoons at the Andrew Lewis Gym.

Quizzed on how he envisions the boxers will perform during the three-day fixture, Poole responded that he expects them to “bring their ‘A’ game.”

Team Guyana have been victors of the event ever since it started five years ago. Poole expects the winning streak to continue.

The boxers to be encamped are as follows:
