A child of Mocha, East Bank Demerara was on Thursday brutally attacked by a truck driver at Cane View where he went to retrieve his kite.

According to the information received, the child went to Cane View, Mocha, to pick up his kite when he was confronted by the truck driver who asked him what he was doing in the area. The man then took a brick and hurled it at the child’s face. He then got into his truck and drove away.

The child was injured as a result of the attack. An eyewitness said that blood was gushing through his nostrils and his nasal bridge appeared to be punctured.

The matter was reported to the police however it is unclear whether the driver was charged.
