New Amsterdam, St Stanislaus clash in Milo football

The 9th Milo Secondary Schools U18 Football Championship will officially resume today at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.

In the opening fixture at 11:00hrs, New Amsterdam will take aim at St. Stanislaus whilst Wismar/Christianburg will battle 8 of May from 12:45hrs.

In the third fixture, Berbice Educational Trust will match skills with St. Cuthbert’s Mission from 14:00hrs, with North Ruimveldt will face off against President’s College at 15:45hrs in the fourth fixture. In the final encounter at 17:30hrs, Annandale will engage New Central.

The event will continue tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches. At 11:00hrs, Marian Academy will oppose Bush Lot whilst Charity will tackle West Minster from 12:45hrs.

In the third fixture, Ann’s Grove will engage Vergenoegen from 14:00hrs, with Cummings Lodge opposing Charlestown at 15:45hrs in the final fixture.

The event will feature 32 teams competing in an initial group stage format comprising eight groups of four. The top two finishers from each pool will advance to the round of 16 stage.

The winner of the event will pocket $300,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy, with the second, third, and fourth place finishers walking away with $200,000, $100,000, and $75,000 respectively for a school initiative and the corresponding accolade.
